The case of Qian Zhimin and her 60,000 Bitcoins will gradually move into evidence and substantive hearings after October this year
Odaily Planet Daily News The case of Qian Zhimin and her 60,000 Bitcoins concluded a three-day hearing from July 7 to 9, 2026. In the next phase, the focus of the case will gradually shift to evidence and asset tracing. It is expected that after October this year, the case will progressively enter evidence and substantive hearings. The court will focus on:
1. How the RMB investment funds entered Lantian Gerui and related accounts;
2. How the funds were pooled, transferred, and exchanged;
3. Which funds ultimately have a demonstrable connection to the Bitcoin seized in the UK;
4. The losses, recoveries, and existing compensation status of each applicant;
5. What specific property relationship exists between individual investors, Lantian Gerui Company, and the Bitcoin involved in the case.
Analysis suggests that only after the dispute over applicable law is resolved and a ruling is made by the judge this July, will the case gradually shift from "which law to apply" to "whether the evidence can prove the rights." (Caixin)
