US federal deficit reaches approximately $1.4 trillion in first nine months of fiscal year 2026

Odaily reports, According to the "Monthly Budget Review for June 2026" released by the U.S. Congressional Budget Office, the total U.S. federal budget deficit for the first nine months of fiscal year 2026 was approximately $1.4 trillion, an increase of $35 billion compared to the same period in the previous fiscal year. During the same period, federal revenue reached $4.2 trillion, an increase of $142 billion (up 4%); spending totaled $5.5 trillion, an increase of $178 billion (up 3%).
