CME Group's daily average trading volume of crypto contracts in June increased 76% year-over-year, with a notional value exceeding $10 billion
According to official data released by the Chicago Mercantile Exchange Group (CME Group), its average daily trading volume (ADV) in June set a new record of 30.6 million contracts, up 19% year-over-year; trading volume in the second quarter reached 29.8 million contracts, the second highest in history.
In the cryptocurrency sector, CME Group's average daily trading volume of cryptocurrency futures contracts in June increased 76% year-over-year to 334,000 contracts, with a notional value of approximately $10.7 billion. Among these, the average daily trading volume of Micro Bitcoin futures contracts rose 46% to 77,000 contracts. In the second quarter, the average daily trading volume of cryptocurrency futures contracts reached 250,000 contracts, up 32% year-over-year, with a notional value of approximately $13.7 billion. Meanwhile, the average daily trading volume of Ethereum futures contracts increased 10% to 18,000 contracts.
