Congressional Democrats have criticized this, arguing that as the current administration seeks to relax cryptocurrency regulations, this constitutes a conflict of interest. White House spokesperson Anna Kelly responded that the disclosure presents no conflict of interest. Additionally, Bessent expressed optimism about the U.S. economic outlook and noted that over 6 million Trump Accounts have been opened.
