Irish authorities recover another 500 BTC from lost Bitcoin assets of drug trafficker Clifton Collins

Odaily Planet Daily News The Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB) of Ireland stated that it has recovered an additional 500 BTC from the lost cryptocurrency assets of convicted drug trafficker Clifton Collins, valued at nearly $31 million. This brings the total amount recovered by the agency in this case to 1,500 BTC, worth over $92 million at current prices.

This operation was supported by the Europol European Cybercrime Centre. Europol stated that it organized operational meetings at its headquarters in The Hague and provided investigators with complex technical support and decryption resources to help them access the relevant wallet assets.

The case involves 12 Bitcoin wallets accumulated by Collins from proceeds of trafficking and cultivating marijuana, initially holding a total of 6,000 BTC. Previously, Irish authorities had recovered 500 BTC each in March and May.
