Fed Survey: 10% of US Adults Used or Held Crypto in 2025
According to a survey by the Federal Reserve, cryptocurrency usage in the US increased in 2025, with approximately 10% of adults reporting they had used or held cryptocurrencies during the year, up from 7% in 2024 and reaching the highest level since 2022.
The survey shows that about 7% of US adults hold cryptocurrencies as an investment, making investment exposure the largest participation category. The approval and growth of spot Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs have influenced the rebound in retail participation.
Data indicates that cryptocurrency adoption is most concentrated among adults under 45 and households with incomes above the national median. Additionally, the role of cryptocurrencies in daily consumer payments remains limited, as US consumers primarily view them as investment assets. (financefeeds)
