Odaily Odaily Planet Daily reports that crypto media outlet DL News has announced it will shut down by the end of May. DL News was established in 2022 as the news division of DefiLlama and split from DefiLlama in early 2023. It launched its commercial unit, DL Research, in 2024, which saw revenue grow by 270% in 2025, with annual sales exceeding seven figures.
Due to declining traffic in the crypto and tech media landscape, and AI reshaping search distribution models, the outlet failed to achieve commercial scale. The team began layoffs in mid-April and formally notified employees on May 1 of the decision to close by the end of the month.
