Iranian official calls US 14-point proposal "unrealistic," emphasizes negotiations must include "tangible benefits"
According to Odaily, Mohsen Rezaei, a long-term advisor to Iran's late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and former commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, stated that Iran will not allow the United States to reopen the Strait of Hormuz based on "an unrealistic plan" and then exit the conflict "without paying any compensation for all the damage inflicted on Iran." This statement comes in response to the 14-point proposal submitted by Washington to Iran through negotiating representatives.
Rezaei emphasized that for negotiations between Iran and the US to achieve satisfactory results, they must include "tangible benefits," rather than the "superficial gestures" that the US is attempting to offer. He said that even if the US withdraws its forces from the region, Iran will still demand its rights and war reparations. Rezaei also stated: "We have endured them for 47 years and will continue on the path of resistance." (Jin Shi)
