Odaily Planet Daily News: Trump family crypto project World Liberty Financial has hired prominent litigator Tom Clare in the lawsuit against Sun Yuchuan, with the law firm being Clare Locke LLP.
Tom Clare is known for focusing on commercial litigation and defamation cases. He is active in media and technology-related legal disputes and has garnered attention in the crypto industry for representing projects or companies in controversies (such as defamation and contract disputes). In 2023, Clare led a defamation lawsuit against Fox News, alleging it spread false claims about "Dominion machine fraud" in the 2020 U.S. presidential election. The case was settled for $787.5 million before trial, making it one of the largest publicized defamation settlements involving an American media company.
Previously, World Liberty Financial filed a lawsuit in a Florida state court, accusing Sun Yuchuan of defamation and alleging a "systematic campaign of pressure" against the project.
