Harvard's endowment grew to $68 billion, its best performance in five years, boosted by investments such as SpaceX.

Odaily News: Harvard University's annual financial report shows that the university's endowment fund grew 27.1% in fiscal year 2026, marking its strongest investment return performance in five years. The fund's total size is currently close to $68 billion.

Harvard University Chief Financial Officer Ritu Kalra and Treasurer Timothy Barakett wrote in the annual report: "This return will strengthen the endowment's ability to support the university's development over the long term. Strong investment returns will gradually provide support for Harvard University's various endeavors through future fund distributions." In its second-quarter 13F holdings report filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Harvard University disclosed that it holds SpaceX shares worth $2.2 billion, which is the endowment fund's largest single holding by market value, followed by TSMC, with a holding value of slightly less than $350 million.

Earlier news, Harvard University's fund disclosed as early as 2018 that it had begun investing in cryptocurrencies.
