U.S. Senate Likely Unable to Pass CLARITY Act Before Summer Recess, Legislative Prospects Cool This Year

Odaily reports that U.S. Senate Majority Leader John Thune has indicated that the CLARITY Act may not secure final passage before the summer recess, though he hopes to at least initiate floor consideration before the break.
Previously, the industry had viewed August 7 as a key window for the bill's passage this year. If delayed until the fall, the likelihood of enactment by 2026 could decrease. White House crypto advisor Patrick Witt stated that the Senate could still advance related procedures in the first week of August, but the probability of a final vote on the CLARITY Act in July remains low.
