Data from commercial shipping tracking cited by Iranian authorities showed that only 11 commercial vessels passed through the Strait of Hormuz in the past 24 hours, including 8 oil tankers and 3 cargo ships.
In the early hours of local time on the 12th, the Navy of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps of Iran issued a statement saying it had fired warning shots at a vessel inside the Strait of Hormuz. The statement said that due to this unsafe situation being "caused by illegal intervention by foreign forces," the Strait of Hormuz will be temporarily closed until further notice.
