MoonPay apologizes for false report of viral hippo MooDeng’s death causing market concern: “AI Intern” test fails
Odaily reported that crypto payment company MoonPay posted on X, stating that it had previously falsely published a tweet about the death of viral hippo MooDeng. The incident stemmed from a test conducted by its AI intern project “AI Intern V1.0.” However, the outcome was undoubtedly a failure, and the project still requires further optimization. Related tests have now been suspended, and the project has been “sent back for maintenance.” MoonPay confirmed that the viral hippo MooDeng is currently in good condition, “still chubby, very happy, and perfectly healthy.” It also apologized for the false report and market concern caused earlier, while acknowledging that this incident highlighted issues within the AI agent project that still need to be improved before its official launch. The relevant tweet has been deleted.
