Odaily Odaily reported that Gate issued a statement regarding the recent customer fund incident, stating that its attitude during initial communications with users was inappropriate and it did not prioritize the user's feelings from the outset. Gate's initial judgment was entirely based on facts: the applicant provided highly matched information including account email, phone number, real-name verification details, complete transaction records, and a genuine and valid Alipay transaction screen recording. This information was highly accurate, and the applicant passed liveness verification. After sending email and SMS notifications, and following a 2-day review protection period plus a 24-hour withdrawal protection period, the user raised no objections. Additionally, the application IP originated from the same region as the account's recent access IPs. Based on this multi-layered cross-verification of information, a judgment of suspicion was made at the time.

Despite the initial poor communication, Gate's support for users has never ceased. Following the incident, a special task force comprising security, compliance, legal, and business teams was immediately established, and a dedicated processing group was set up with the user. Currently, incident reconstruction, device security analysis, and real-time tracking of the fund trail have been completed, and assistance has been provided to the user in filing a police report and submitting complete documentation.

Simultaneously, Gate has engaged a professional legal team and mobilized business resources to actively communicate with Tether and related exchanges, striving to freeze the involved funds.

Regarding security mechanisms, Gate reiterates: Gate has always adhered to a multi-layered protection system, including multi-channel advance notifications, systematic risk control pre-screening, manual four-eyes review, and strict time protection. Liveness verification serves only as an auxiliary measure, not the sole basis. The 10.x internal IP addresses appearing in logs are for normal auditor operations.

Furthermore, after a rigorous investigation, there has been no platform data breach or improper actions by former employees in this incident. Some of the sensitive information provided by the applicant was not previously in the platform's possession. Security has no endpoint. Gate will seriously review this incident and continuously optimize its processes. Regardless of the final investigation results, Gate will fully cooperate with the police and third-party agencies to do everything possible to help users recover their funds.
