Coinbase receives UK investment services authorisation, to offer stocks and derivatives on a single platform
Odaily Odaily reports that Coinbase has announced it has received UK investment services authorisation, allowing it to offer cryptocurrency, stock, and derivatives services under the same platform and login system. The authorisation is granted by the UK Financial Conduct Authority under the MiFID framework, permitting regulated companies to provide investment services and trade financial instruments including stocks and derivatives. Coinbase stated that advanced traders will be able to access perpetual futures related to cryptocurrencies, stocks, and commodities, while retail investors will be able to trade stocks. Stablecoin payments, savings, lending, cryptocurrencies, derivatives, and stocks will also be offered on Coinbase, with tokenized real-world assets on the roadmap.
