Iran has numerous options that were not utilized during the 40-day war, including withdrawing from the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), amending the 'nuclear doctrine,' and blocking the Bab el-Mandeb Strait in addition to the Strait of Hormuz. A proposal to withdraw from the NPT is ready for deliberation in parliament. If Iran faces an existential threat, amending the 'nuclear doctrine' could also be placed on the agenda." (Jin Shi)
