Iranian military warns US against interfering in the Strait of Hormuz, threatens devastating response
Odaily reported that the Hatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters of Iran's Supreme Joint Military Command stated on Wednesday that Iran's armed forces will deliver a "devastating response" to the U.S. military. This follows Iran's accusation that the U.S. military launched strikes against parts of southern Iran, calling them "blatant acts of aggression," and warning that Tehran will not allow the U.S. to interfere with the management of the Strait of Hormuz. The command stated that the only safe passage for merchant ships and oil tankers through the waterway is the route designated by Iran.
The U.S. military launched a new round of strikes against Iran on Tuesday and, after three oil tankers were hit by projectiles in the Strait of Hormuz, revoked licenses permitting Iranian oil exports, further pressuring an already fragile ceasefire agreement.
