Odaily Planet Daily reports that the U.S. Central Command released a statement and video stating that the U.S. military has launched a new round of offensive strikes against Iran, using precision-guided munitions to hit more than 80 targets, as a "direct response to Iran's recent attacks on commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz."

The statement noted that the U.S. strikes targeted Iran's air defense systems, command and control networks, coastal radar stations, and anti-ship missile capabilities. In addition, over 60 small vessels belonging to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps were destroyed in the Strait and surrounding waters. The U.S. military said that Iran had previously attacked three commercial vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz: the Marshall Islands-flagged oil tanker "Al Rekayat," the Saudi-flagged oil tanker "Wadian," and the Liberian-flagged tanker "Cyprus Prosperity." U.S. Central Command forces remain on high alert, stating that "once Iran fails to comply with or violates the agreement, the U.S. will hold it accountable at any time." (Jin Shi)
