Less than 20 days after the US-Iran ceasefire, the scale of US strikes on Iran has expanded fivefold and oil waivers have been revoked

2026-07-08 00:12

Odaily Planet Daily News: The United States has launched a new round of airstrikes against Iran and revoked an exemption that allowed Iran to sell oil to the global market. The US Central Command stated that this strike aims to impose costs on attacks and harassment of merchant ships carrying civilians in international waters, and claimed that Iran's related actions are unjustified, dangerous, and clearly violate the ceasefire agreement. The US Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control announced on July 7 local time that the US has revoked a general license authorizing the sale of Iranian oil, and related wind-down transactions can continue until midnight Eastern Time on July 17.
