Odaily Planet Daily reports that Base has announced plans to officially activate the B20 token standard on mainnet at 2:00 AM Beijing time on July 9. The upgrade was originally scheduled to go live on June 27 but was postponed due to stability concerns.
According to the announcement, B20 is a native Base token standard designed to enhance user experience through faster, lower-cost, and more standardized settlement mechanisms. It enables global financial assets to be deployed on the Base network as programmable capital, offering on-chain composability.
