McKinsey Survey: 76% of Employees Use AI to Assist Work, Generative AI Reduces Demand for Entry-Level Positions
Odaily Planet Daily News, July 7. McKinsey research shows that in 2023, only 30% of employees used AI to assist work, but by 2025, this proportion has risen to 76%. The "McKinsey 2025 New Era of Work Survey" indicates that 51% of business organizations report that generative AI has reduced their demand for entry-level positions. Between 2023 and 2025, the turnover intention of employees who have been with the company for less than one year decreased from 37% to 32%, approaching the 30% level of employees with more than three years of tenure. The survey shows that AI creators and heavy AI users have the highest sense of belonging to their positions, but their likelihood of leaving within the next three to six months is 7% higher than light AI users and 10% higher than employees who do not use AI. The research shows that the main reasons that make employees willing to stay include valuable work, flexible work locations, career development and promotion opportunities, trust and support from colleagues, decent compensation, and receiving sufficient recognition.
