ZachXBT: Hacker withdraws 3200 ETH and launders approximately $5.5 million via Circle CCTP cross-chain transfer

Odaily reports that according to ZachXBT's monitoring, a hacker withdrew approximately 3200 ETH via Tornado Cash between July 2 and July 3. The funds are linked to two private key leakage incidents. Subsequently, the hacker used Circle's CCTP cross-chain bridge to launder approximately $5.5 million in assets across chains, transferring USDC to 7 deposit addresses on the Arbitrum network.

ZachXBT stated that the flow of funds shows a decentralized laundering path, utilizing mixing tools and cross-chain infrastructure to make tracking more difficult. Currently, the relevant on-chain assets are still in continuous circulation.
