Odaily reported that on the 15th, during the G7 summit in Évian-les-Bains, France, Trump stated that restoring navigation in the Strait of Hormuz would “not require much (external) help.” Trump made these remarks during talks with French President Emmanuel Macron. Earlier that day, Macron indicated that several European countries were ready to participate in escort missions in the Strait of Hormuz. The G7 consists of the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Canada, and Japan. France holds the rotating presidency of the G7 this year. This year's G7 summit is being held in Évian-les-Bains, France, from the 15th to the 17th. (Xinhua News Agency)
