Polygon zkEVM mainnet Beta version shuts down on July 1, DeFi assets overdue and unrecoverable

According to an official announcement from Polygon, the Polygon zkEVM mainnet Beta version will officially initiate the shutdown process on July 1, 2026, leaving only about two weeks before the full cessation of services. The official team urgently reminds users to withdraw all on-chain assets and liquidity positions before this deadline, as assets may become unrecoverable after the expiry date.

This shutdown distinguishes two types of asset handling rules: locked funds deposited in various DeFi protocol contracts do not support automatic migration and cannot be recovered after the deadline; only assets directly stored in personal wallets that have not been bridged back to the Ethereum mainnet in advance will be automatically migrated to Ethereum L1 by the system. Users can claim these assets through a dedicated page. The platform urges users to complete pool withdrawals and cross-chain operations as soon as possible to avoid the risk of permanent asset loss.
