U.S.-Iran agreement will be signed online, and the Strait of Hormuz will be reopened immediately after the signing
Odaily reported that, according to CCTV News, U.S. President Donald Trump stated on June 13 local time that the United States and Iran are scheduled to sign an agreement on June 14, and the Strait of Hormuz will be reopened immediately after the signing. Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on June 13 saying that Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Dar spoke by phone with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal that same day. The electronic signing ceremony for the U.S.-Iran agreement is scheduled for June 14. However, the Iranian side stated that the specific signing time for the memorandum still needs to wait.
Sources behind the scenes said that U.S. officials and mediators from multiple countries have confirmed that the signing will take place online, mainly due to logistical and scheduling coordination considerations. One key reason is related to a scheduling conflict for Vice President Vance, who leads the U.S. negotiating team. Although Vance led the negotiations, if he were to attend an offline signing ceremony, he would not be able to return to the United States before Trump departs for France on June 14 to attend the Group of Seven (G7) summit. Therefore, to ensure the smooth continuation of the core itinerary of the U.S. side, all parties ultimately decided to adopt the online signing format. (Red Star News)
