Although other parts of the world are facing difficulties due to high energy prices resulting from the Middle East conflict, U.S. employment growth in May exceeded market expectations, and the unemployment rate remained stable. These employment figures have reinforced market expectations of a Federal Reserve interest rate hike. "This is a favorable environment for the dollar's rise," said Noah Buffam, a strategist at Citi Capital Markets.
