Turkey has almost fully liquidated its holdings of U.S. Treasury bonds

Odaily reported that calculations based on U.S. Treasury data show that in March (the first month of the Iran conflict), Turkey nearly emptied all of its holdings of U.S. Treasury bonds in an intensified effort to support its local currency. Data indicates that as of the end of March, Turkey's total holdings of U.S. Treasury bonds fell from $16 billion the previous month to $1.8 billion. This figure includes bonds held by both the central bank and other Turkish entities, including corporations. (Jin10)
