Trump expressed optimism again about reaching a deal with Iran
Odaily reported on May 6, local time, that U.S. President Donald Trump expressed optimism about reaching a framework agreement with Iran, believing it "has the potential to yield results." When asked about the specific timeline for (reaching an agreement), Trump estimated "one week." In an interview that day, Trump expressed optimism about the prospects of a U.S.-Iran deal, stating that the potential agreement could include Iran shipping its high-enriched uranium to the United States. Trump said he feels the U.S. is increasingly close to reaching a deal, adding, "I think the chances of reaching an agreement are very high," and the two sides could potentially strike a deal next week to end the conflict. However, he also threatened: "If they don't agree, then we will carry out bombing." When asked whether the potential agreement includes Iran shipping its high-enriched uranium out of the country, perhaps to the United States, Trump replied: "Yes, not 'perhaps,' it will be shipped to the U.S." Trump also said Iran would commit to not operating underground nuclear facilities and "will abide by this arrangement in good faith for a considerable period of time."
