US Intelligence Report: Iran War Possibly Motivated Suspect in Trump Dinner Shooting Plot
OdailyOdaily Planet Daily News According to Reuters, citing an intelligence report sent to state and local law enforcement agencies and other federal entities across the United States, the Department of Homeland Security has identified the US and Israel's war with Iran as a potential motive for the suspect in last month's assassination attempt at the White House Correspondents' Dinner. The suspect is accused of plotting to assassinate Trump and senior government officials. This preliminary assessment report, issued on April 27 by the Office of Intelligence and Analysis of the Department of Homeland Security, stated that suspect Cole Allen "harbored multiple social and political grievances." The report concluded that the Iran conflict "may have influenced his decision to carry out the attack," citing Allen's social media posts criticizing US actions in the war. The report, marked as a "significant incident briefing," was obtained through a public records request by the transparency nonprofit "Property of the People." (Jinshi)
