Trump details security incident at dinner, does not believe shooting is related to Iran conflict

Odaily reported that when answering questions from reporters, US President Trump said the unexpected incident at the White House Correspondents' Association dinner that day was "completely shocking." He heard a noise but initially thought a tray had fallen. "I was observing the situation," but his wife took cover more quickly, seemingly realizing what was happening almost immediately. Trump stated that he hopes to continue the dinner and promised to reschedule the date as soon as possible. Trump said he received no threat briefing before the dinner. He also mentioned previous assassination attempts against him and called on the American people to "resolve their differences." He noted that members of both parties condemned the incident that night. Trump also expressed gratitude to the media, saying they "acted very responsibly in their coverage."
