Republican leadership calls on Lutnick to halt crypto PAC’s political spending in Texas
Odaily Odaily reports that senior Republican officials have recently contacted U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, urging him to intervene in the spending plans in Texas of Fellowship PAC, a crypto-focused political action committee backed by his former company, Cantor Fitzgerald.
The PAC previously disclosed in FEC filings a plan to spend $1.75 million supporting Ken Paxton, raising concerns within the party over its involvement in a sensitive primary race. Sources say the PAC ultimately did not run the related advertisements, and Republican officials later indicated that the concerns have been alleviated. Fellowship PAC, which is linked to Tether, has previously stated plans to raise $100 million for the 2026 election cycle and has so far raised approximately $11 million. (Axios)
