Odaily reports that the Central Bank of Iran has confirmed the first transit fee collected from vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz has been booked as "cash foreign exchange." Earlier, there were reports suggesting Iran was collecting the Strait of Hormuz transit fees in the form of "cryptocurrency." Earlier today, Haji Babaei, Deputy Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran, stated that Iran has received the first transit fee for the Strait of Hormuz and deposited it into the central bank's account.
