American musician G.Love loses 5.92 BTC after downloading fake Ledger app from Apple App Store
Odaily News: American musician G.Love from Philadelphia posted on platform X, stating that while setting up his Ledger on a new computer, he mistakenly downloaded a malicious fake application from the Apple App Store, resulting in the theft of his retirement funds. Approximately 5.92 Bitcoin were transferred out within a short period. Blockchain investigator ZachXBT later indicated that the flow of the stolen funds had been tracked, pointing out that the related assets had been laundered through deposit addresses on a CEX. ZachXBT also questioned Apple's App Store review mechanism, stating that the Apple platform has issues allowing counterfeit apps to be listed, which further amplifies risks to user asset security. This incident has once again drawn market attention to wallet security and application ecosystem review mechanisms.
