Bloomberg Analyst: IBIT Achieves Positive Net Inflows for the Year, BTC Investors More Resilient Than Gold Investors

2026-03-25 12:00

According to Odaily, Eric Balchunas, Senior ETF Analyst at Bloomberg, posted on platform X stating that the net inflows into Bitcoin spot ETFs this month have reached $2.5 billion, just one step away from fully offsetting the net outflows for the year. Among them, BlackRock's IBIT has taken the lead in achieving positive net inflows for the year and has entered the top 2% of all ETFs in terms of year-to-date fund flows. Against the backdrop of Bitcoin's price dropping approximately 40% over the past 6 months and facing widespread negative sentiment, ETF funds have still demonstrated remarkable resilience. For comparison, when gold fell 40% in a short period 10 years ago, about one-third of investors chose to exit, whereas Bitcoin investors have shown significantly stronger holding behavior. (Eric Balchunas clarified that this is not meant to disrespect gold investors, but rather highlights the unusual nature of Bitcoin's situation.)
