Market News: Moonshot AI Seeks $10 Billion Valuation in New Funding Round

According to Odaily, reports indicate that in an expansion of a funding round already participated in by Alibaba (09988.HK) and Tencent Holdings (00700.HK), the AI startup Moonshot AI is seeking to raise its valuation to $10 billion, aiming to capitalize on strong investor interest in Chinese AI model ventures.

Informed sources revealed that the company, which developed the Kimi chatbot, initiated discussions for additional funding in late January to meet investor demand. This comes just about a month after the company completed a $500 million funding round at a $4.3 billion valuation. Sources stated that existing investors, including Alibaba, Tencent, and 5Y Capital, have already committed over $700 million in the initial phase of this latest funding round. (Jin10)
