Hong Kong SFC Holds Digital Asset Advisory Group Meeting: Discusses Enhancing Liquidity of Licensed Virtual Asset Trading Platforms
Odaily reported that the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission announced the convening of the third Digital Asset Advisory Group meeting to discuss the future regulatory development of digital assets in Hong Kong with licensed virtual asset trading platforms. The meeting discussed plans to strengthen the digital asset ecosystem, including enhancing the liquidity of licensed virtual asset trading platforms, and regulatory measures to further expand product and service types. Dr. Yip Chi-heng, Executive Director of the Intermediaries Division at the Hong Kong SFC and Chairman of the Digital Asset Advisory Group, stated that striking a balance between innovation and investor protection with integrity is extremely important. The commission is committed to promoting the establishment of a prosperous and sustainable digital asset market in Hong Kong, ensuring that regulatory policies are practical, effective, and appropriate.
