According to a new report from consulting firm McKinsey and blockchain data company Artemis Analytics, stablecoins transferred over $35 trillion on blockchains last year, but only about 1% of that was for real-world payments. The analysis estimates that only $380 billion of the activity reflected actual payments, such as payments to suppliers, remittances, or payroll. This accounts for about 0.02% of the total global payment volume, which McKinsey estimates exceeds $200 trillion annually. (Coindesk)
