From scaling and the explosive growth of the Layer 2 ecosystem to the first Devcon and The Merge in three years, 2022 is an exciting year for Ethereum and ethereum.org. With the help of thousands of great contributors, we have launched many impactful features and content.

Let’s take an in-depth look at the highlights of the Ethereum ecosystem in 2022:
translation project
Translate educational Ethereum-related content into as many languages as possible for our team andVision of the ethereum.org websitevery important. The contributor community has come a long way since we became a multilingual site in 2019. In 2022, the number of people contributing to our translation program will continue to grow, with a surge in non-English language readers. The detailed figures are as follows:
Added 3,000 translators
Up to 4.6 million translated words
28% of visits are in a language other than English (twice as high as in 2021)

Community Involvement
Ethereum.org is the work of thousands of amazing contributors, each of which helps build the community. Like the translation project, ethereum.org excels in many other community-driven initiatives. In 2022, we have 37,000 Discord members, 7,000 Crowdin members and1000 contributors on GitHub, this is a huge milestone!
Specifically, when we rolled out the Typescript and UI library migrations, we had over 50 code contributors.

In terms of content, we also have dozens of contributors writing new pages for ethereum.org, including pages about blockchain cross-chain bridges, DeSci, decentralized identity, and more.

open design system
Since May 2022, we have been working on creating the ethereum.org design system. Completing the design was a lot of work, and we're excited to share it with you. In Q1 2023, we will start deploying code to support the new design system.
One of the first goals behind creating the design system was to provide a way for designers to contribute to the open-source Ethereum community. In 2023 we will continue to work with the community and open up our design process to the community.

new page
2022 is the year with the most new content on ethereum.org. We offer content-rich, popular pages that have been read by over a million people. Some of these highlights include:
Layer 2 : Tell users why Ethereum is expanding through Rollup and how to join Layer 2.
run node: Emphasizes the value of running a node and provides readers with the steps and resources to get started running your own node.
Staking Hub: Demystify the staking process and the main advantages of different staking methods.
Introduction to Web3: Explains the principles, philosophical definitions, and current limitations of Web3.
Energy consumption: Shows the current and historical energy consumption of Ethereum and the impact of mergers.
In 2023, we will continue to collaborate with the community and subject matter experts within the Ethereum ecosystem to fill our gaps and deliver high-value content to our readers.
Recommended Wallet Upgrade
Another important milestone for 2022 is the improvement of our wallet. A large portion of traffic to ethereum.org comes from users looking to get their first wallet. On our previous Find a Wallet page, it took a lot of work to provide a comparison of different wallets, making it difficult for users to decide which wallet was best for their needs.
After several design iterations, we set out to create an e-commerce-like experience that allows users to filter wallets by specific features, compare features between wallets, and select user personas with recommended features.

Learning Center and Learning Quizzes
We know that there are constantly new users trying to understand Ethereum. In 2022, we have spent a lot of time focusing on creating a better experience for these users. Creating easy-to-understand content is also the driving principle of all our work.
Learning centre
we createLearn HubBecause users need help finding a starting point for learning about Ethereum without being overwhelmed by the amount of information available on our website and the incoherence of different pages. The Learning Center is a guided path for users, starting with the basics of what a cryptocurrency is; guiding them through making their first wallet; teaching them how the Ethereum protocol works and how they can participate in the ecosystem.

study test
In addition to providing structured learning paths through the Learn Hub, we want to make learning about Ethereum more fun for users, improve their memory, and gamify the process, for which we created learning quizzes. Each quiz has several questions with multiple possible answers and explanations after submitting the answers to help users better understand Ethereum.

We currently have eight pages of learning quizzes and plan to offer more features and pages in 2023, including:
What is Ethereum
What is ETH
wallet
Layer 2
NFT
wallet
Security and Fraud Prevention
ethereum merger
ethereum merger
Without a doubt, the biggest Ethereum event of 2022 is the merger. As part of preparing for the merger, we audited content across the site to see what needs to change after Ethereum switches to proof-of-stake.

In addition to reviewing and updating hundreds of pages of existing content, we have created many new pages to show the changes, such as: Proof of Stake FAQ, Proof of Stake vs Proof of Work, How Blocks Are Produced Based on Proof of Stake, and more .
For full details, see our three large initiatives related to The Merge:
Preparations before the merger
other projects
In addition to our core products on ethereum.org, we spend a lot of time presenting other projects that are critical to Ethereum's success, including:
Ethereum Foundation Blog: Rebuilding the Blog to Deepen International Development
Ecosystem Support Program (ESP): Rebuilding the ESP website
Geth: A new website has been built for Geth's documentation design
EthStaker CLR: Designed and built an application that supports staking-centric quadratic financing
Staking Launchpad: Updated and added content from The Merge, and added translations
EF Cryptography Research: Designed and built a blog for EF Cryptography Researchers
