Odaily News On July 4th local time, the U.S. Air Force has suspended SpaceXs plan to test hypersonic rocket cargo from a Pacific atoll. A U.S. Air Force spokesman said the Air Force is exploring other locations for the project. It is reported that the project will test a reusable rocket landing vehicle that can deliver up to 100 tons of cargo to anywhere on Earth in about 90 minutes. Previously, biologists and experts said that the project would endanger many seabirds nesting in the Johnston Atoll Wildlife Refuge. The U.S. Air Force has stated that it will conduct an environmental assessment of the project, but the release of the draft assessment has been delayed due to opposition from environmental groups.
