🔸September/October feels like a wave of TGEs, with both new and established projects issuing tokens and exiting. I'm also wondering what projects are left to invest in after this wave. While browsing Rootdata, I sorted through dozens of projects and ultimately decided to "simplify first, then expand": I'll start with a wave of high-certainty projects that I can invest in later, and then add them to my list as I see them promising. 👇 ▪️AI: @SentientAGI, @Surf_Copilot ▪️Perp Dex: @Lighter_xyz, @Backpack ▪️Prediction Market: @Polymarket ▪️Stablecoin: @capmoney_, @USDai_Official ▪️L1/L2: @base ▪️Other: @zama_fhe, @farcaster_xyz Also, today I'm focusing on popular L1/L2 public chains and sharing some thoughts. @AbstractChain has high uncertainty. The founder says they'll wait until ABS becomes a top L2 before issuing a token, while the community is buzzing about an IPO token sale. The key takeaway is that interacting with ABS is quite expensive and prone to back-stacking, so for a safe bet, you can forgo it. @aztecnetwork, despite its high funding, won't be investing. Partly because the project is geared towards node operators, and partly because it previously stated in its DC that "there will be no airdrops," and a few days ago, its CMO said, "Airdrops are stupid, it's time to move away from this model." These signals are bad, so it's best to avoid investing. @base will definitely be invested. Lianchuang and its CEO have finally announced plans to "explore network tokens." Officially, there are no specific plans yet, but we'll still have to find ways and angles to invest. I may write a detailed article on interaction ideas later. I've been following @monad, so I'm continuing to invest. Monad will likely launch its token in late October/early November. They haven't explicitly announced an IPO or a testnet airdrop. I've been following it, so I'll continue to interact with it and see how it pans out. But new players can skip Monad; their role is closed and the testnet is too late. @megaeth_labs is optional. Officials have clarified that NFT holders (soul-bound) will receive tokens, so there likely won't be any "gas-losing" airdrops. Even if there were, the share of "gas-losing" users would be minimal. Furthermore, the megaETH mainnet won't launch until the end of the year, so the actual token launch will take at least another 6-12 months, a long wait. We can only wait until after the mainnet. The testnets of other L1/L2 chains like @0xMiden @atlasxyz @ithacaxyz @deltadotnetwork are either half-baked or barely established, seemingly facing a difficult launch. Therefore, there's no need to consider them. @FogoChain's testnet explicitly has no incentives; Kraken's @inkonchain announced an airdrop in June, presumably having already taken a snapshot. My feeling is that, aside from Base, there's no need to specifically invest in L1/L2 public chains.
