Bitcoin Drops to $78,500, Majority of Mining Rigs Turn Unprofitable, Only New Antminer Models Remain Profitable

According to Antpool data, as the price of Bitcoin recently dipped to around $78,500, the vast majority of Bitcoin mining rigs, except for the latest generation models, are currently operating at a loss or are close to breaking even.

Data shows that only the latest models like the Antminer S23 series remain profitable, with the Antminer S23 Hydro generating a daily profit of approximately $18.53 per unit. In contrast, the older Antminer S21 series has seen its daily profit drop to about $0.12, while the Whatsminer M63S is incurring a daily loss of around $0.47.
