If the device experiences a TRNG failure, users simply need to perform a power cycle—completely removing all power sources and restarting the device. This fault state is volatile and is not written to the device's flash memory. The system handles it in a "fail-safe" manner, which will not cause permanent damage to the device. Coldcard reminds users to continue following previous security recommendations to address related risks, and stated that a follow-up fix is in progress.
