US official: Trump to decide within days on expanding military action against Iran
According to Fox News, senior U.S. officials stated that President Trump is expected to decide within the next few days whether to expand military operations against Iran and resume full-scale combat. These officials emphasized that no final decision has been made yet. Officials said that if Trump orders a resumption of full-scale military action, its scale and intensity would be "far greater" than the U.S. airstrikes that began on July 7 and lasted for nine nights; the previous airstrikes primarily targeted Iranian military assets related to operations around the Strait of Hormuz. One official also confirmed that U.S. forces had largely avoided striking targets near Tehran or Iran's nuclear facilities. "If full-scale combat operations resume, this situation could change," the official said. (Jin Shi)
