The Semiconductor ETF (SMH) and Software ETF (IGV) have recorded 34 trading days this year with daily gains or losses of 4% or more, a 278% increase from the previous full-year record of 9 such days set in 2024, and surpassing the total count over the past seven complete years. Among them, SMH has seen three trading days in July with single-day drops exceeding 4%; the 3x Long Semiconductor ETF (SOXL) has had 18 trading days since June with gains or losses reaching or exceeding 10%.
