Odaily Planet Daily News Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas posted on platform X, stating that he originally planned to examine how much cash leveraged ETFs have consumed since their inception and compare it with the $750 billion in losses caused by underperforming active mutual funds. However, after calculations, he found that these products have actually generated $66 billion in cash for the traders using them. Many leveraged ETFs, such as TQQQ, have surged by 38,000%, yet still experienced capital outflows, meaning traders are taking profits. This data has already accounted for volatility drag and includes -2x funds.
