Gate's initial judgment was entirely based on facts: the applicant provided highly matching information, including the account email, phone number, real-name verification information, complete transaction records, and a genuine and valid Alipay transaction screen recording. This information was highly accurate, and the applicant passed the liveness verification. After sending email and SMS notifications, following a 2-day review protection period plus a 24-hour withdrawal protection period, the user raised no objections. At the same time, the IP address used for the application was in the same region as the account's recent access IPs. Based on this cross-verification of multiple pieces of information, a questionable judgment was made at the time.

Despite the inappropriate initial communication, Gate's support for its users has never ceased. Following the incident, a special task force comprising security, compliance, legal, and business teams was immediately established, and a dedicated handling group was set up to communicate with the user. Currently, the incident reconstruction, device security analysis, and real-time tracking of the fund flow have been completed, and assistance has been provided to the user in filing a police report and submitting complete evidence.

Simultaneously, Gate has engaged a professional legal team and mobilized business resources to actively communicate with Tether and related exchanges, striving to freeze the funds involved in the case.

Regarding security mechanisms, Gate reiterates its commitment to a multi-layered protection system, including multi-channel advance notifications, automated risk control screening, manual four-eyes review, and strict time protections. Liveness verification serves only as a supplementary measure, not the sole basis for decision-making. The 10.x internal IP addresses appearing in the logs are used for normal operations by auditors.

Furthermore, after a rigorous investigation, there is no evidence of platform data leakage or misconduct by former employees in this incident. The platform did not previously possess some of the sensitive information provided by the applicant. Security is a continuous journey.
