South Korean Banks Expand Foreign Exchange Trading Teams in Preparation for Won's Nearly 24-Hour Trading

Odaily Planet Daily News: Major South Korean banks are expanding their foreign exchange trading teams and strengthening their presence in Seoul and London to prepare for the upcoming nearly 24-hour won foreign exchange market. Woori Bank has sent eight additional employees to its London office for positions in foreign exchange, derivatives, and bond trading. Hana Bank has added traders in Seoul and implemented a three-shift rotation system to achieve round-the-clock coverage. Shinhan Bank and KB Kookmin Bank are also simultaneously expanding their personnel and upgrading their systems. The nearly 24-hour won foreign exchange trading system is scheduled to launch on July 6th.
