Odaily Planet Daily News Fed Chairman Walsh said on Wednesday that inflation expectations and inflation risks have declined in recent weeks; he also reiterated the Fed's commitment to bringing inflation down to the 2% target level.
"In the first few weeks of this period, inflation expectations have receded, and inflation risks have decreased along with them," Walsh said. "If households, the business community, or financial markets believe the Fed will be comfortable with inflation above the 2% target—well, they are in for a disappointment: we will ensure the United States achieves price stability."
