Iranian Speaker Says Being Prepared for War Is Essential for Good Negotiation
Odaily Planet Daily News, local time June 30, Iran's chief negotiator and parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stated in an interview that Iran is determined to uphold the memorandum of understanding, but if the US refuses to implement the consensus, Iran is ready for war. Ghalibaf said that negotiating with the US is not like talking with a friend, but rather negotiating with an enemy that has no credibility. Whenever the opportunity arises, the US will surely strike Iran again. Therefore, only by being prepared for war can a negotiation be conducted well.
Moreover, Ghalibaf also refuted claims during the interview that "Iran's unfrozen funds can only be used to purchase American agricultural products." He stated that this is "completely inaccurate," and according to the memorandum of understanding, Iran has the right to manage the unfrozen funds on its own. (CCTV International News)
