Korean media: Samsung and SK Group expected to announce investment plan of up to 2,000 trillion won (approximately $1.3 trillion)

Odaily Planet Daily reported, according to a report by Korea Economic Daily on Monday, that as part of South Korean President Lee Jae-myung's flagship industrial strategy, Samsung Group and SK Group are preparing to announce a plan for total investments of up to 2,000 trillion won (approximately $1.3 trillion) over the next decade. The report stated that Samsung and SK Hynix are expected to build 4 to 5 semiconductor factories each in the Gwangju region.
The report added that Samsung also plans to build a chip packaging plant in South Chungcheong Province, while SK Hynix will expand its NAND factory in North Chungcheong Province. (Jin Shi)
